Terms of Service

1. 1. Gearshire is a neutral marketplace

   We connect you with people who lend gear and we facilitate the payment. We do not own, inspect, store, or guarantee any item and we are not a party to your rental.

2. 2. You are responsible for the gear

   From pickup until the lender confirms the return, you are responsible for the item, including loss, theft, and damage beyond normal wear. You must return it on time and in the same condition.

3. 3. Deposit and charges

   You are charged the rental total plus a Gearshire service fee, and a refundable security deposit may be held on your card. The deposit can be captured toward damage or late returns. Once a rental is completed and closed, the payment is final.

4. 4. Disputes

   If something goes wrong we may help mediate. Where you and the lender cannot agree, our decision on releasing or capturing the platform-held deposit is final for platform purposes.

5. 5. Prohibited use, no insurance, and assumption of risk

   Do not use rented gear for anything illegal or unsafe. Gearshire provides no insurance. Renting and using gear can be risky and you assume that risk to the extent permitted by law.

6. 6. List accurately and legally

   Describe your gear honestly, make sure it is safe, functional, and legal to rent, and confirm you own it or have the right to rent it out.

7. 7. Honor your bookings, and no prohibited items

   Honor the bookings you accept; repeated cancellations after accepting may pause your listings. Do not list illegal, stolen, recalled, counterfeit, or hazardous items.
